SC250 – Mini Version
The SC250 Capacitive Level Switch offers multiple advantages over typical capacitive level switches. The SC250 has a field adjustable sensitivity adjustment which enables the user to calibrate the sensor to detect a wide variety of products including conductive or non-conductive products, various types of liquid including acids or corrosive solvents, solid or granular substances such as glass, plastics, sugar, flour, grains and fine filaments.
The SC250 does not require a reference enabling it to be applied in concrete or plastic containers. The SC250 is a compact sensor made with a 316L Stainless Steel body and PTFE sensing tip with an acrylic viewing lid to access the sensitivity adjustment. A high luminous LED gives the operator a clearly visible indication of the switch output status.
Standard configuration comes with an IP67 rated M12 quick connector. Available with higher temperature limit for CIP applications. The SC250 is available for 12…30Vdc supply voltage with PNP output and can be used in conjunction with RL202 relay powered by 110Vac or 220Vac, with NO + NC switch relay output.

PROBLEM: A plastic tote tank manufacturer needed to offer as an add-on a non-contact point level indicator without drilling any holes in the side of the tank. The customer also wanted to provide a visual indication of the level status for maintenance personnel that would be driving by the units on a service road.
SOLUTION: Sitron created the SC250 Capacitance Point Level Switch which is a compact version of the SC750 Capacitance Level Switch. This unit provides a PNP switch output, Blue LED visual indication of switch point status, a sensitivity adjustment potentiometer (accessible via the screw cap acrylic cover) and a water tight M12 electrical connector for easy on site installation. We modified the process connection with threaded nuts so that the distance from the mounting point to the side-wall of the tank would be adjustable as well.
BENEFITS: The SC250 offers a low cost, point level detection switch mounted on the outside of the vessel, of any type of medium (Liquids, Oils, Powders). The SC250 come with extremely flexible mounting options, visual indication and on-site calibration that includes the ability to ignore build-up on the inner wall of the vessel and read the actual Level of the medium within the vessel.
